From Communication to Illumination: A Timeless Piece Reimagined
STC (Standard Telephones and Cables) stands as a true pioneer in Australian telecommunications. Established in Sydney in 1926 by ITT (International Telephone and Telegraph), STC was created to meet the growing demand for telecommunication equipment.
As demand for local production grew, STC began assembling Bakelite telephones for the Postmaster General, moving from imported parts to local manufacturing.
According to service tags and date stamps, this STC 400AT Series Bakelite rotary table telephone was produced in 1958. Originally a classic piece of communication history, it has now been brought vividly back to life in a bright, sunshine yellow.
Carefully converted into a dimmable table lamp, this rare reimagining adds both a pop of colour and a nostalgic glow to any interior - seamlessly blending vintage charm with modern function.
