A timeless piece of mid-century British design, this 1960s Ercol Prince of Wales rocking chair combines elegance, comfort, and craftsmanship in equal measure.
About the Designer:
This piece was designed by Lucian Ercolani, the Italian-born, British-based founder of Ercol. Ercolani was a key figure in bringing modernist design to post-war Britain. His use of English elm and innovative steam-bending techniques created pieces that were both sturdy and elegant - and the Prince of Wales rocking chair is a perfect example of this legacy. With its refined silhouette and ergonomic form, it reflects Ercolani’s vision of furniture that’s as beautiful as it is usable.
This piece features a rich, warm patina that only decades of age can deliver. The sculpted high back and generous seat offer excellent support, making this both a functional and decorative addition to any interior - from modern rustic to traditional or collector spaces.
Perfect as a statement piece in a reading nook, nursery, or by a sunny window.
Note: We are also selling a 3-seater Ercol sofa (as seen in last image).
