A grand 19th-century French giltwood and gesso mirror, dating to around c.1860.

Sourced in France, this piece has been preserved with its original surface, revealing a beautiful aged patina that only authentic antiques possess. At over 1.4 metres tall, it commands attention while still remaining versatile enough to work in both classic settings and modern interiors as a dramatic focal point.
Mirrors of this scale and quality were often commissioned for elegant Parisian homes and châteaux during the 19th century, making surviving examples increasingly scarce.
