An exceptionally rare find for collectors and design lovers alike.
These exquisite mid-century planters were made by Barsony, a name synonymous with iconic lamps and sculptural forms. However, occasionally he produced functional pieces such as vases, ashtrays and plant holders - and these are among the rarest of them all.
Normally produced in very low numbers, such pieces were often left unnumbered, reflecting their limited production. The pink planter is unnumbered, while the red example is marked, making this pair a particularly special discovery.
Featuring elegant scalloped rims, graphic vertical striping, and rich contrasting interiors, this pair embodies the playful yet refined spirit of the mid-century era. Their bold black, soft pink, and vibrant red palette makes a striking statement in any interior or veranda setting.
Perfect displayed together or individually, they offer a rare opportunity to own a lesser-known but highly collectible piece of Australian design history.
Sold as a pair.
Condition
In good vintage condition with paint losses to each piece, commensurate with age. These areas of wear are consistent with their history and do not detract from their display appeal. The pink has a chip under the rim. Please see images for details.
