Vintage 1990's Pacific Green 2-Seater Sofa

A 2-seater sofa by award-winning Australian furniture brand Pacific Green.

Pacific Green, originally called Post & Rail, began in Sydney in 1973 and grew exponentially due to its design and construction quality.  In the 1980's, with early world concerns about deforestation and ecological threats, it turned its focus to sustainability and explored options for sourcing quality timber for its ongoing production.  

Abandoned coconut plantations were located in the South Pacific, consisting of palm trees at the end of their productive fruiting.  Aligning with their values, Pacific Green began using this coconut wood as an alternative to other, less sustainable woods.

Moreover, coconut wood is hard and extremely resilient, perfect for long-lasting furniture.

This exquisite 'Messina' sofa is completely hand-crafted and supported by columns of palm wood and upholstered in luxurious, top-grain Italian leather.  It has been designed for aesthetic appeal, but also comfort - it has perfect lumbar support, particularly for the lower back.
